MAN ABOUT TOWN

Our Creative Director John Redmond has an eye for style, art and what's happening in Dublin town, as there is no one so close to where it’s at in the city we asked him to talk through his favourite Christmas haunts, traditions, tipples and buys for the festive season.

What do you love about Dublin?

The people, the ever changing city and the Georgian and Victorian architecture. One glance at our Georgian squares at Christmas all done up with wreaths and glittering trees in the windows is enough to get into the atmosphere of the season.

Downtime in the city?

I have a little dog called Lou Lou and I love going for walks with her in Merrion Square, it is especially beautiful in autumn and in winter, and it’s a great spot to take in some art on Sundays as the city’s artists display their pieces to the public around the park.

What’s your favourite part of Christmas?

Walking down Grafton Street and taking in the atmosphere, the lights on the street. I also love introducing new traditions and ideas to Christmas. Clarendon Street behind our Grafton Street store is a hidden gem with the Beauty Lounge and festive lights leading you to seasonal treats.

Where do you find inspiration in the city?

One of my great passions is art so the newly refurbished National Gallery of Ireland is such a stunning building, I love to look at Irish art, and the artist Louis le Brocquy is a particular favourite.

What is on your wish list this Christmas?

Balenciaga trainers, the oversized Hockney art book from The Marvel Room and The Christmas Cracker hamper the ultimate seasonal indulgence full of all things naughty and nice.
